OT.....Finally got power back on

Just wanted to vent for a few seconds. We got 8" of snow in Charleston, SC on Friday night. Now remember, 8" of snow here is like 8' of snow in New England. Power went off at 11:00 pm on Friday night and just got it back on at 11:30 this morning (Sunday). It is !@#$% cold in my house now. Crazy thing is that 95% of my subdivision had their power on yesterday evening except for my cul-de-sac and several other houses down the street. Luckily my mother-in-law had power yesterday and we spent the night with her. Anyway's, just wanted to vent.

You have a right to vent. I dread if that ever happened to me. Glad its back on and you have power. We were hit with two almost 20 inch storms in about a week here near Philadelphia. At least the kids are happy playing in the snow and bombing me with snowballs...........Good Luck! I hope it stays on for you.............

I know how you feel . We live in Baltimore and got 46"s in less than a week. A big piece of ice , from our roof , knocked out our cable and phone . The gas and electric was good , so in that regard , I was thankful.

So far this winter , we have gotten over 80"s of snow. I had a global warming imagecrazy , said they were thankful for global warming as just imagine how cold it would've been , if it wasn't warming up so much.image

The sky is falling , the sky is falling. Global nuts , lately the snow is falling.

I know you guys up north have been getting hammered the last three weeks. I am originally from Dayton, Oh and my family still lives there. My brother says they have gotten 24" in the last week. I tell you what, you don't realize how nice it is to have heat until you don't have any. The house is finally starting to warm up a bit and I don't see my breath anymore. Got the heat cranked up to 85. Oh well, I am sure in July/August when it is 105 outside with 100% humitdy I will be begging for it to cool off.

In rural Missouri, our power goes out every winter for a time.

Every fall we get the generator primed for another winter!
