2010 Upper Deck

Are these really that rare and hard to find because I heard rumors that they were all pulled or something like that. My local card shop has packs for $7.00 a piece. I have nothing to go by to see if that is a high price or really good because of their rarity.

They were still being sold at Target as of Monday... Not rare yet, unless the judge ruled in favor of MLB to have an injunction against upperdeck selling the product until the trial is conducted.

7.00 is expensive, they should be 5.00
  • local shop has $6.00 , Local for me is 50 miles away because card shops are getting pretty scarce around here. Kaybee toys or target should have them.

Edited to add I brought this up a week ago about how the prices will start to go up.....

I refuse to buy Upper deck products anymore image

From what I've seen/experienced so far with 2010 Upper Deck... here is my take...

    A) Not enough bang for the buck, odds for decent hits are too great
    B) Way too many filler inserts... sometimes 3-4 a pack
    C) Photography is nice, but card quality is tough (many touched corners, easily chippy edges, production defects such as BAD roller lines)
    D) Coalation is crap... actually wondering if there a bunch of yet-unannounced SP's

I've purchased 2 hobby boxes (from my local card shop) and 5 retail blasters (3 from Walmart, 2 from Target). There are 600 cards in the set. I am still 173 cards short of the set... I have over 300 duplicates... and 131 cards I can't use because they appear almost creased in half horizontally from ridiculously bad roller lines. Of those 131, roughly 40 of them could fill holes in my still-uncompleted set.
  • There are base cards with variations too as UD is doing a contest for the first five to find them all.

I really miss the days where the companies would put out a set and maybe add a few inserts here and there to make things interesting. Now 40% of the set is SP. What kind of crap is that.

  • Must not be too rare. Walmart had about 15 boxes.
  • A couple of other Upper Deck products were pulled from shelves, but I think these will get the same treatment. MLB is saying Upper Deck is using trademarks without permission and the 2010 Series 1 has trademarks on the cards. I'm sure these will be pulled soon too.

  • The boxes and packs even say NOT authorized by Major League Baseball or it's members.
  • It's on the cards too, but still they are using MLB trademarks without permission.

I'll just say I bypassed the UD product and picked up a Topps box today to fill my craving to rip some packs today...

Its a no brainer for me. After what I have read about UD the last few weeks, I will never buy another UD product.

I bought 3 packs today for the heck of it. I got 3 game used jersy cards and 1 autographed card. Not too bad I guess for only three packs. The jersey cards are John Bowker, Yasuhiko Yabuta, and Justin Upton, the autographed card is Clay Buscholtz.
