Please help a first time grader

I have never sent in for grading and i wanted to know your opinions on what you think these would get. The surfaces are great!

I know the Aaron is a little rough. And the Mays the bottom left has what looks like slight bend. Its hard to see but the Koufax and Carlton bottom right corners slight ding

Tip #1 - scan with a contrasting background. Don't use the white platen cover when the cards have white edges; it makes it hard to pick out corner details.

    I like the 67 Aaron a lot.

    "Molon Labe"

  • Awesome looking cards!

As far as grading, I would say mostly 6's and a 7 or two.
  • The '68s need to be looked at with a loupe. I had a few '68s I thought were absolutely pristine, but under a loupe they looked awful.
  • It is hard to tell but the 1967 aaron could pull an 8. But make sure to loupe it good on the corners. This card is the one that caught my eye from all the rest..
1963 Mays is psa 5ish centering helps this card out
1965 Topps Aaron is psa 5.5 ish
1965 Koufax looks like a psa 6 centering might get you a 5 if corners show more wear than normal
1965 Topps Carlton Rc looks psa 7 but it looks like a pinhole to me above the "5" in 1965 ?
1967 Topps Carew Rc is a psa 6
1968 Aaron is off top to bottom if corner are sharp I think psa 6 -6.5 loupe the corners though like mentioned above
1968 Palmer looks like a psa 6 if corners are nice

They look like they are worth subbing at the $5 special! image Good luck on the grades! Ryan

Thanks everyone for your replies - stallion it makes sense to me what you wrote.

The bottom left corner of the mays kills me. Its centered so nice and the surface and other 3 corners are really nice. (ditto to top left corner of 65 Aaron)

Ill check out the 67 Aaron again

The Carlton above the "5" those are print dots. Its not a pinhole. Unfortunately the bottom right is dinged a little more then shows on scan so im guessing 6 instead of 7

I was going to say you realize there will be a MC qualifier on your cards then I realized it is a case of identity theft. image

From a scan it is very hard to tell. The 63 Mays looks real nice.

I can only say that they all are grade worthy.

What actual grades you get will depend on the grader who will have the card in hand.

Any grades that you receive here is simply opinion. Even though many have been spot on in the past.

The Koufax and possibly one or two others have centering issues which is basically all I can tell for sure.

These would be perfect for the 'free' subs one gets when signing up.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

    BTW welcome to the boards.

    Good for you.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

I agree 6's and outside shots at 7's except on the first Aaron with the bend. A five is probably the best for that one.
