    Hank was a little before my time. But from interviews I've seen, and things I've heard and read, he's always come off as a very humble and polite guy. A complete contradiction to guys like Mays, for example.

    My favorite Hank story:

    One day at spring training in West Palm Beach, I was sitting out near the back fields. Hank comes out and meets up with a couple, who he was friends with. I was sitting around 30 feet away by myself. After a while, Hank calls me over and ask if he could borrow my pen. He uses it to sign things for his friends and gave me my pen back and walks away. No auto for me. Did I mention there was NOBODY else around? Never did get an auto from him.

    Thankfully Luke Appling was WAY awesome and made up for Hank. Got to sit down and talk with him for an hour once.

    got to shake his hand on the way in and way out of being inducted into HOF, wouldn't sign though, smaller then i thought he would be, stong arms and hands
