Looks like Target boxes have the exclusive old-school backs again. I didn't pick any of them up last year, but maybe I'll do a Dodger set in those. Pretty cool looking IMO.

Yes, that and they also feature the old Topps Logo on the front of the card.
Last year, ever base card in a blaster from Target was like that, this year
they cut it down to two packs (out of 8) for some reason. But if i remember
correctly, they started that with last years H&U

  • John, check the back of the CYMTO cards. If the back shows the regular back of the original Topps card, its a short print.

I went to my local cardshop on Tuesday, but they told me they weren't getting their shipment of 2010 Topps until Wednesday. I needed my fix though, so I went to Target and bought three blasters. Nothing too exciting to speak of, but I did pull these two cards (and promptly added them to my group sub lot)...

Albert Pujols Topps Throwback (base parallel in the old cardboard stock)
1952 Mickey Mantle The Cards Your Mom Threw Away

So I went back to the local cardshop yesterday and bought two hobby boxes. Again, nothing too exciting, but I did pull the following...

Cal Ripken Jr. game used card
    Hank Greenberg game used card
Ichiro Gold Parallel (and about 10 others) #ed/2010
    2 Black Parallels #ed/59
    Massive stack of other inserts

Sorting the cards out is on the docket for tonight... see how the coalation is & if I at least got a complete 330 card set out of it.

Also picked up a box of the new Topps National Chickle football... honestly enjoyed that product/box a lot more than the 2010 Topps baseball.
  • The stupid fake patch cards usually sell for more than the blaster boxes if you list them on eBay. I think every patch card I have sold ended at more than what I paid for the box. I sold a Mantle patch last year for about $35 when the box only cost $9.99.
  • Good stuff guys, love the dizzy dean patch.
  • Thanks Mark, i did not know that, there was 5 with regular backs at first looking at the hornsby's back i had it in with the regular base set, duh,, but look at it, same make up,, anyway here is the 5,,, bj

  • Am I the only one that's tired of seeing a reprints every year that they are calling 'subsets'?

Overall I like the things they've done this year for kids...
    the tales of the game...
    the history of the game...
    etc.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the patch cards from my blasters. I remember one was Chipper Jones, can't recall the other 2 though.
