Poppage Scans - Thanks to Jasen (Leathtech) - Some childhood purchases

Finally, finally got around to protecting some of the cards from the mythical shoebox I have mentioned purchasing from when I was a kid. There was a pawn shop down in Bakersfield, CA that I went to looking for cards and the person pulled out two shoeboxes chock-a-block with old cards (this was the mid to late 70's. I only had $20 and the cards were 2 for a quarter. I bought what I could and begged my folks for more money, but when I went back the next day, they were gone. I still dream about what I passed up. Kind of a Sophie's choice for a kid with $20 as I went through the box.

I sold a lot of the Mantles and couple of the Bench rookies, some Clementes, etc when I was in college in order to eat.

These are what's left over (I was a big Pete Rose fan). Oh man, oh man, those shoeboxes...

Thanks again for subbing for me, Jasen.

I have picked up many great deals from antique stores, flea markets and especcially tag sales. Never from a pawn shop though. I will have to try one soon.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
