Help me pick cards for Group Sub -- SCAN HEAVY!!!

I really don't have much raw right now to sub so I am thinking of cracking some stuff out from other graders and sending to PSA with the group sub. A few things about what and how I collect:

1. Mostly modern (I was born in 74 and really focus on players of my generation)
2. On modern cards, I try to focus on 9's or better.
3. Grades don't really matter on Vintage, just want to make sure I have an authentic card and want the protection.
4. When I sub to BGS, I ask for a "Minimum Grade of 9 or Authenticate".
5. I don't grade to resell.
6. I don't care if my cards are PSA or BGS. I am okay with some SGC. Don't display or collect other graders. Might pick up the others (BCCG) to crack.

My scanner is not the best (HP C7280 All in One). For example the "dust" on the LeBron card and from the scanner and not on the card.

So, please give me your thoughts on what might bump to a 9 on my modern. On the vintage what do you think might be worth subbing just to get them in a PSA slab instead of BCCG, etc.

What would you submit?

I will crack the Auto 8 for sure since PSA does not grade the auto. Ozzie has a small crease on the back.

I think the Pujols corners might have graded hard. Jeter has an 9 for surface. I don't know much about that.

Tiger has a dinged upper left corner. Busted from PRO Gem Mint 10. I don't think I can sub the other two due to size. Is this correct?

Jordan has a crease from ball to top. LeBron dust is from scanner. OC but is to too bad to keep it out of a 9?

Is the centering on the Aikman to bad to keep it out of a 9? The rest of the card is really nice.

Are these two worth a 2nd opinion? Both eBay buys.

I would keep most cards like they are. The 1989 Aikman is graded right on centering is off left to right and the card is only worth about $7-$10 the way it is at a 8.5, a 9 is worth under $20. As the Ozzie Keep it as it is if it has a crinkle the best is a psa 5 . The chamberlain might get a psa 4 to 4.5 depending how the card looks in hand. The Bccg 10 A-rod I would sub to beckett again because it will at least get a mint or they will give a free voucher, that has worked for me . Dj 93 sp could be sent in to be reviewed to psa or cracked out but be careful these are tough holders! If you do crack out the jeter be sure to send the flip back to Beckett to not alter the pop reports

Nice churchman boxing card ! I would keep Joe louis raw it is only worth maybe $20 bucks at a 4.5 ish to 5. Lew alcindor looks wavy on left border could be trimmed other board members can determine this or not for this issue.. Sub the lebron card and place minimum grade of 8. Sub the Mj Rc and it will get a psa 3.5 or psa 4 . Hope this helps somewhat

Thanks for the input. Can you sub with a min grade to PSA? I have only done that to BGS. Also I did not know they BGS would give a voucher if my BCCG 10 did not cross to a 9. Is that standard or do I need to request it?

I have before requested it and they have put the ok with the staff at Bgs. Most have probably never heard of this before but it recently worked with me. I subbed a large submission last time. I would try to get it graded with bgs. It is a 100% chance it will come back lower than a mint with psa if reviewed . It was graded with beckett low tier grading a mint so go ahead and send it to Bgs.

Also adding that ,I would crack the chamberlain card out and sub to psa depending on the crease .The pic looks psa 4ish too me, add a close up of the back and front side by side . The centering is pretty good. The ozzie is centered well I would dispose of the Bccg case though and display it in a hard case

Whatever you do, don't crack the BCCG 10 A-Rod. With everything else, do what thou wilt.

tallboys (Lew and Tiger) are out as they must be submitted on a separate invoice from regular sized cards.

Left the AROD and Jeter's in the cases. Cracked everything else!

Take it back. I put the two altered cards and the Aikman back in the box. I forgot since they are not on my table anymore. Damn I am getting old fast

Make sure to remove the wax stain or residue on the mj rc before submitting. Panty hose will work wonders on wax stains. *This is only if it is a wax stain on bottom right corner. Keep flips and send them back to Bgs in an envelope .

Really, panty hose? The wife is going to really think I have lost it now.

Any advice on removing smudges from an auto ball? I have an autographed Augie Garrido baseball that after he signed it he accidentally touched it then put a fingerprint on another part of the ball.

Yes lol

They work the best! Not that it matters to you or not but it will make a difference in the grade a bit if you left it alone grade would be psa 4 st = a psa 2 good so it will help a bit still a $275 or more card even in low mid grade. As for the smudge on the ball i really can't think of anything... I know they make erasers for pens and some pens have erasers I would try that... If signed with a blue sharpie i don't know ,,

Okay. I ended up sending Bill all the cards in the last post except the Wilt. I was going to send that but I got a 10 day coupon for two cards from Beckett for my Graded Card Investor price guide renewal. The Wilt and Jordan will be sent in with that coupon.
