WTB: 1955 Topps Sandy Koufax

I am looking for a very nice copy of a Koufax rookie in PSA 7. Good centering is a must with no print lines. If anybody has one that meets this criteria, please send me a scan. Thanks!
Bob

That PSA 7 sold for quite a premium. If its real, its a nice PSA 7. Decent centering and void of the print dots usually found on the Koufax RC.

Bob, For a reference point I paid $828 for this one a couple months ago. $900 BIN and got 8% cashback.

    MBMiller,
Your Koufax is a monster 7. Is it as high end as the scan suggests? Centering, color --it has it all. You did well for the price you paid.

The hint of printing defect you see along the top and left side of the card are indeed on the card. I am very happy with it, but not sure it would bump up to a 7.5.

Matt, why would you question if it was real?
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

The questions and answers in the auction concern me enough to make the comment.

Strange, but I bought my PSA 5 '55 Clemente from her in that same batch of cards and no problems. It's definitely legit.

Matt, Your Koufax is a gorgeous card. I did see that auction underwraps linked up. That price was a little on the high side for that card. I missed one a month or 2 ago. It looked even nicer than the one that sold for 1300 plus. It ended up selling for just under a grand. I kick myself for not taking the seller up on his offer to end the auction early for $1000.

I was the one asking her those questions...and she used them to her benifit by pasting them to the email section of the auction page.

She told me if it didnt bump to a 7.5 or 8.0 she would refund me in full. I bid and I lost. image

That's one heck of a guaranttee. I would love to know who bought the card and if they plan on submitting it for a bump review.

Someone left her a negative feedback last week and she hid her feedback (which I think is crap). I'd love to know what transpired. As I mentioned though, my transaction and communication with her was fine.

    Anyone yet?

Bob, I've had some luck in the past looking through sales on VCP and e-mailing the winning bidder through eBay. Of course this only works with auctions that ended several months ago and earlier before eBay hid the buyer IDs. It's another avenue to pursue though.

    I sold a 4 recently...too low for your needs
  • Bob,
I hope you find one. There was 39 Koufax's PSA7's that VCP recorded in 2009 so there is activity out there if you go that way then its a question of the looks of the card and how much money you are willing to spend. Good luck, gary.
