With 13 feedbacks, I would leave that one on the shelf. Plus, he's a coin/currency guy, and you know those guys can't be trusted. (hehe)

i always ask ebay sellers if the card has ever been trimmed or altered in any way. If they come back with a flat out no I sometimes go for it. If they come back with "I don't know if it ever has before I owned it or start telling you a long story about how they don't think it is I would stay clear.

The seller seems to be an upright individual. The only drawback is that he/she doesn't engage in the 3rd party grading business and thus only sells raw currency notes and sportscards.

If the card in question has been altered, it was probably bought or traded that way by the seller, who seems to be willing to offer the best descriptions known to him about the card.

I would simply contact the seller and voice my concerns as such, and also ask if the card can be returned if it fails to grade by a 3rd party.

    Trimmed.

I like how the top edge starts to slope/dip from left to right,
or are the borders naturally that small?

Looking at the scan - on my office screen - there seems to be a bit of 'wave' to the top border?

Not truly sure tho. Might be using my card trimmer's alert imagination?

  • By no means count this as proof of anything, but I attempted to do a very quick and very dirty size compare.

To do this, I used Microsoft Paint, and I resized a graded PSA Mantle from the same year and this one, so that they are the exact same number of pixels.

I counted the number of pixels for the borders on both cards. My results are as follows:

Image size 234 pixels by 331 pixels for both.
    PSA 7 Mantle
    Top 9 pixels
    Bottom 8 Pixels
    Left 9 Pixels
    Right 10 pixels

    Mantle linked above:
    Top 8 pixels
    Bottom 8 Pixels
    Left 6 Pixels
    Right 10 pixels

While, the results indicate that there is likely +/- 1 pixel different on each measurement, It leaves me uncomfortable that the linked mantle is smaller on both TOP + Bottom and Left + Right measurements.

Looks too good to be true.... seller with little feedback... I'd avoid this one.
