The price may not be going that high because it is pick up only...

Edited to add: I did not see that it is for one card only...

Additionally, this may be a play for PowerSeller status / discounts as the thresholds are tied to EITHER dollar amount of sales or the number of sales.

Not even Goodwill wants 89 Bowman commons.

I agree...bit of a scam. Wonder if his next auction item will be the "found in the attic" Mantle rookie.

Maybe it is legit. If he is getting a dime a card, even after fees, he makes around $30 for a worthless box. Maybe he really is donating them to Goodwill....
  • Perhaps someone should ask him for proof of donation to the Goodwill. He could go through and sell the same card 1000 times over. I think I will start selling high fives on ebay. Local pick up only of course, or if not in the area they can be donated to someone at the Goodwill.

<<< THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO BUILD YOUR REPUTATION ON EBAY! >>>

About the most useless thing i can think of on the face of this earth now that a seller can't neg a buyer, is buyer feedback.

I would take a high five. Of course, if you lived too far away for me to get it, you would have to donate it to Goodwill. I would just be bummed out that I lost .11 cents on a high five I would never take part in. image

This is a bogus way for him to build FB.

"I WILL NOT SHIP THESE CARDS AS THEY ARE BIGGER THEN AVERAGE CARDS AND TEND TO GET DAMAGED IN THE MAIL!" He starts with this piece of horsesh*t. An 89B will easily fit in a PWE between 2 pieces of cardboard.

But that gives him an excuse to offer P/U only. He knows that even if you live in the San Jose area, there's no way you're making a 15-minute drive to pick up a common card worth .03

So you buy the item, and leave 5 stars, expecting the card will be donated to Goodwill. Whether or not he actually takes a stack of commons to Goodwill, no one will ever know. I'd bet against it.

Meanwhile, he has built his FB and 5-star rating for absolutely nothing.

Looks like he's had quite a few people take the bait.

Can Ebay pull the auction because he isn't offering anything for sale?

Bingo! Build the feedback where you look real good real fast and then scam someone out of 10K on an imaginary Mantle
