My holiday purchases from my favorite shop (with scans)

The first three I picked up on eBay for my HOF Players registry set, the last three from my favorite shop. Enjoy!

And this last one I had to have even though it's in a lower grade than I normally collect:

Great cards to add to an already amazing collection! That Reggie rookie is off the charts!

Blazers! Very nice. Really like the Reggie rookie....

Reminds me of collecting as a kid, back in the late 70's/early 80's.
My collecting buddy saved up his paper route money for months
so he could go to a show and buy a nice Reggie rookie. I think
he paid something like $90 for it, which was (back then) a LOT
of money for a card, especially when you're only 11 yrs old.

  • Fantastic cards, thanks for sharing. The Reggie sure looks like a bump candidate from the scan...... and it's just ridiculous how nice that Wilhelm is.

I wish there were a card shop in the Twin Cities that sold vintage PSA graded cards. To my knowledge, there is not.
You want vintage at a shop, you're buying it raw- and it's not often you'll find anything nicer than the EX-MT/NM range. But at least the weather sucks.
'Sir, I realize it's been difficult for you to sleep at night without your EX/MT 1977 Topps Tom Seaver, but I swear to you that you'll get it safe and sound.'

  • Very nice Paige. The others are top notch as well.
  • As usual, beautiful cards.

Very nice! I am sure a lot of people are envious that:

#1 You have a card store around you.

    #2 They carry graded cards.

#3 They carry GOOD graded cards.

We have a few card shops still around (Silicon Valley), only one of which dabbles in graded cards and their selection and price leaves much to be desired unfortunately.

  • Andy, I was wondering when we were going to see some new additions go into your sets. Was just checking on your sets a couple days ago to see if you had made it back from the West Coast. That Reggie Jackson is REALLY nice and I love that Satchell Paige card. Very nice work! Maybe one day you will share the name of your favorite shop so I can stop when I am out there!

Thanks for all of the kind words, guys. Just made three more end-of-the-year eBay purchases that I'm excited about -- I'll post scans after I receive the cards.

    Happy new year everyone!

Very nice cards, I only hope that one day ALL of my cards will be 8s-9s-10s!
