(2) autographs and/or relics per Hobby box

Release Date: Week of November 23rd

A new Parallel will be regular size Bronze cards (one per pack), while the popular tobacco card-sized mini parallels return once again in every pack. Here’s the breakdown:
* Piedmont (300 cards): A Piedmont ad on the back — one per pack.
* Polar Bear (300): A Polar Bear ad on the back — 1:10 packs.
* Old Mill (300): An Old Mill ad on the back in red ink — 1:20 packs.
* Cycle (300): A Cycle ad on the back — sequentially numbered to 99.
* Gold Chrome Piedmont (300): Gold Chrome Refractor of Piedmont parallel — hobby-only and numbered to 50.
* Carolina Brights (300): A Carolina Brights ad on the back in red ink with a red border — hobby-only 1/1s.
* Short-printed variations (50): Cards will be found one in 20 packs.

There is another sell sheet that reads Sps are 1:5.Why did they sticker autos on a throwback set.That alone has killed any interest in this product for me.

Agreed, topps is not only milking the retro idea but they are cutting corners with the sticker autos. I might be in for a box or two, but that is it.

Topps said 70% of the autos will now be on card.That's a plus but it will make a complete set look like crap.

That Cobb booklet shown is pretty cool. I would even give it coolest card of the year.

I was excited when I first saw topps announced this but with the (What I think is a let down) of A&G I think I am going to pass and focus on my Sandberg registrys and dabble in the Topps Heritage high numbers.

Way too many retro sets. Goodwin is a straight up knock off of A&G.

Yeah I have decided no more multi sport sets for me after getting burned with Goudey, A&G and Goodwin autos. Really surfers and hackey sackers?????????

I like the music autos, I think there is a huge market there for a music themed set. Could you imagine a cut auto of the original Pink Floyd lineup with Syd or even with the later Waters led group with Wright? What about the original Beatles or Led Zepplin? You could instead of game jersey cards have concert used picks and straps.

However I just don't want them in my baseball sets.

I also don't want swimmers, divers and WNBA players either.

I think the T206 set by Topps is a 100% baseball offering and with the on card autos I may give it a shot.

I busted 2 boxes last night - another nice Topps retro set.

First box had 2 autos as the hits - Glen Perkins and Ryan Braun
2nd box had an auto and a GU - already forgot who they are though

(I'm at work so I can't look)

not bad but what bugs me is that the Ryan Braun is an on-card framed mini that they were able to include but they have not been able to provide the on-card framed mini autos from this years A&G that was released almost 6 months ago.

Each box also had some variations with just the players names on the back. Got a Mantle among others.

All 7 checklists have Mantle on the front and the checklist is on the back. Think I got 3 different Mantle photos but all of them had different backgrounds.

Each pack has a mini and each box had 4 with different backs with 1 of those stamped #/99 on the back.

Apparently there are some variations which are easy to spot by the backs. Has anyone noticed a faint brown stain on the back of the card? Its at the end of the first line and the middle of the third line. Or are everyone of my cards ruined and/or am I seeing things.

That Cobb booklet card/cut combo is awesome. Might be the coolest design for a "card" I've seen in a long time. I imagine it will bring a pretty penny to whoever pulls it.

I'm really liking this set. Busted a few packs the other day. Might have to buy a box for Christmas.

I just ripped 7 boxes and got 16 hits - 2 auto redemptions (beckham, david wright), 9 mini framed autos (masterson,granderson,schlereth,Volstad,Perkins, evans, mazzaro, Vanevery,zimmerman), 3 game-used (Hid.matsui, myoung, markakis), and a hornsby silk, and babe ruth old mill bat relic.

Now that is a nice break.

Anyone got a mini checklist? seems the mini list is a bit different from the regular size card list.

I'm just building the mini set (any back combo) so everything else is available if interested.

I need a bunch of minis and if you need any i have extras too.

Al,

every one of the 50 variation (no #s) in the regular sized set is also available as a mini. so there are at least 350 different minis. So #1 howard has 2 different minis. By the way, the variation minis are printed on a much whiter card stock.
