new set started - 1978 Dodgers (scans)

1978 was the first year I collected from packs. I was 11 years old during the summer of '78, and was already a firm Dodgers fan. To me, everything was cool about the '78 set - the cursive team script, the red white & blue All-Star shields, the game on the back, the manager cards with the vintage photo stamp effect. To this day, the '78 set remains one of my all-time favorite sets.

For now, I'm doing the set in a straight 9. I may upgrade at some point down the road to 10s as they come up, but for now I'm digging the 9s.

    Great set you chose and an excellent start! I also have great memories of the 78 cards too....I was 10 at the time and remember buying lots of rack and wax packs with my father and brother. I still have all of my original 78 cards, but I will eventually do the 78 set like you are doing.
