My new quest: 1911 Turkey Reds!

So I have been collecting vintge football cards for approx 4 years and within those 4 years I have completed raw NM sets of 1950 & 1954 Bowman, 1956 - 1959 Topps, and I am 75% done with 1955 Bowman and 1955 Topps AA. I have decided to only collect the graded FB star cards of the 60's, 70's, and 80's.

I decided that I need to "expand" my collecting views to baseball. I also have approx 100 graded 1950's baseball stars but no sets. After much thought and calculations I have decided to go after the 1911 Turkey Red set. As of now I am only going after the T3's and not the T9's but who knows after it is all said and done I might pursue those as well.

I got started a couple weeks ago with the purchase of Ames and Elberfeld from a board member. Once I got those in my hands I knew that I had been bit by the "T3" bug. I have since been scouring Ebay and other Internet resources for PSA 0 - 2'S that have good eye appeal. I am not going for a high grade set because I still want to pursue my other collecting interests. My plan at the moment is to add 1 - 2 T3's per month until I get to the biggies. Those will require some saving!!

I hope you all enjoy the scans and I will try to add more as I get them.

Tell Mr. Bescher he can open his eyes already ... it's been almost 100 years! LOL

Wow, those are real nice cards ... don't know a lot about them, but that would be one hell of a set!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Very nice start to the T3 set. Good luck with it. It is a beautiful set to collect.

Here is the Rube Waddell that I have for my HOF collection.

Bought it graded. It is really sharp and has minimal flaws. The grade is mostly due to the corner wear/rounding and a few surface scratches on the back and front.

    Thanks for the nice comment...Donato

    T3
One of the Most Beautiful Sets of All Time.....

Look for cards with pinholes in the corners or the borders, they are low grade but have great eye appeal.

Keep in mind, unlike most sets/cards....... The T3 star cards (Cobb. Mathewson, etc.) are way more common than the common players, because you could pick the players you wanted.
