Public apology to Mickey71

In another thread I made a couple of claims with regard to Mickey71. One of the claims, about him complaining with regard to shipping charges was inaccurate as I mistakenly thought he was another poster. After reviewing the threads, I found that I was wrong about my statement on this particular subject and wish to publicly apologize to Mickey71 for this error. To reiterate, I accused Mickey71 of complaining about shipping and I was wrong . . . he was not the board member that made the gripes and I apologize to Mickey71.

I felt it was better to post a new thread rather than bury my transgression in the thread where I made the claim.

As always, I will stand behind what I say and how I say it and when I am wrong, I have no problem acknowledging such.

To a majority of the board, I apologize for being a bit testy lately. The stress of the season and the redundancy and silliness of some recent posts and topics have led me to be even more vocal than normal. I will pull back and refrain from both being annoyed and/or publicly stating my annoyance . . . well, at least as much as possible... image

Scott ... a very nice thing to say ... Some things that you have said in the past did get me a little pissed (even though they were not directed toward me ... not saying that you care how I felt ... LOL) but this has just wiped away, IMO, all those times. From now on, in my book, you are a stand-up guy! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Apology accepted. I want to explain a few things myself. I took a slight jab at Otwcards in an earlier thread, it was not meant to cause a stir. For this I also apologize. I am a very passionate collector who appreciates this fine hobby. I have been a soldier in the Army for 20 + years and respect all individuals no matter what thier opinion is. As far as cards: I love high grade Mantles and like to show my recent purchases because I also like to view other peoples cards. I've amassed a nice collection as a few of you know. A few things have been brought to my attention as of late. I am very critical of the main grading companies. When I see something messed up I don't mind speaking up. Don't get me wrong; PSA as a whole does an outstanding job. Grading can be very subjective and therefore some will be disappointed at times. I can assure you that I have been disappointed at times and have also been pleasantly surprised at times. As far as my true concerns with the hobby in regards to PSA--- while they have cleaned up a large part of the hobby with standardized grading they have started a new monster--not intentionally. You will have to follow me on this. The past is the past; but they should not change their label (flip) ever again. Many collectors are getting scared to purchase cards because PSA has about 8 different looks to their flips. I begin to question some of the cards being sold. My second concern and to me the most frustrating is the way "crossovers" are handled. I see very few cards cross that are of high value; but when cracked out generally do fine. This does not seem right. I'm talking mostly about SGC and first generation GAI. To end on a positive note; while I may not agree with everyone, I respect the opinion of all on the boards. I think most of the posts have some interesting points in them. I also appreciate how board members try to look out for one another in regards to Ebay scams and such. I want to wish all the members and PSA a safe and happy holiday season.

  • Some on this thread need to think about their past actions, including PMs. Before congratulation others for their behaviors. Its funny how nasty some people get in PMs, where no one else can see!

  • I just have this unyielding need to make a public apology of my own.

And for this I offer my most sincere and emphatic apology to date, I'm very sorry. And although I accidently Canadianed on several occasions, I'll try my very best to Canadian less in the future. image
