ebay question...final value fees

Hi - Maybe I'm missing something here but has anyone dealt with the $0.00 insertion fees...first 5 free each month? I noticed when I sold a card that the final value fee was more than normal and looked it up on their site and found that they are charging the full 8.75%, regardless of the selling price over $25. On a $300 card, it seems you would be better to not use the $0.00 insertion fee. Is there a way to get around it? Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks for any help/insight.

On the first 5 auctions each month (as long as they qualify per eBays guidelines for auctions of this type) the eBay final value fees are 8.75% or $20, whichever is lower. To take full advantage of this type of listing you should only sell something that will have a final price of $228.58 or greater. Anything less is wasting 5 opportunities to sell high dollar items.

I go the opposite route. I make sure my five free listings are items that are going to sell for $10 or less.

Totally agree. If you sell high end cards, this is a fantastic deal because of the $20 limit.

Perhaps a stupid question, but if you qualify for the "free listing" (because it's one of your first 5 in a 30 day period), is there a way to "opt out" and pay the regular listing fee and regular final value fees?

You can do this by using turbolister instead of going through the ebay site.
