GAI Graded Boxes? Are they safe?

Thinking of buying some older wax thats graded by GAI , generally are these boxes graded pretty clean? Or are they still pretty risky?

There is good product in GAI holders, you just have to do your homework and know who you're buying from. In general, the first generation flips (serial #s beginning with 100 and 101) are more reliable than the more recently graded stuff. I've opened a lot of GAI graded packs and have been burned only a few times...in my experience at least I'd say 9 packs out of 10 are good, though I stay away from the new flips unless I know where the packs came from.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
  • If you receive an invoice from a guy named Gary, I would suggest not paying.
