Mysterious stains on backs of 2009 t206s

I thought this product was interesting so I bought a few boxes. I thumbed through the first pack
and flipped the cards over to check out the backs. I noticed that all of the card backs had two smudge marks
in the same position. I thought I may have had newspaper ink on my fingers (that's what it looked like) so I
washed my hands and opened pack #2. The same smudges were there!
"What is going on?" I thought. Every single pack had the stained cards!
"Must be a bum box". I thought. So I began to open box #2. Same thing!!
"Must have been a bad case" I thought.
A few days later I received 2 more boxes from a different seller.
And yes they were stained too!
I don't know if topps is trying to recreate authentic tobacco stains or what.
I've never seen anything like this. Even the minis have the smudges!
The only cards without the stains are the 7 Mantle checklists. The Mantle cards have a glossy back stock
whereas the regular cards have a sort of rough cardboard stock ( like the Allen Ginters do).
Has anyone else noticed this??
Very strange indeed.

I believe the 2004 Topps Cracker Jacks were similarly discolored.

You are correct. I was hesitant to sub a Pujols from this set because of the spots but it came back a 10.
