Question on these Postcards - Al Kaline, Harmon Killebrew, Tom Seaver, etc.
Hello,
I recently purchased this nice lot of team issued postcards for $64. I haven't received them yet but they appear to be in very nice shape as they were advertised as Ex-NM/MT.
I am trying to identify some of them. I know that the Bench and Perez are from the 1971 Team issue Postcard set. The Frank Robinson is from the 1972 Dodgers set. The Reggie is a 1972 Doug McWilliams A's set.
Does anyone know from what set the Al Kaline, Harmon Killebrew, and the Tom Seaver is from?
Thanks,
Phil

Phil,
I'm most certain the Killebrew is from a team-issued set from the 1960s. I have several other Twins postcards in the same format. I believe I received a few from when the Twins players would circulate around the local states during the winter months and hand them out.
I have a Sports Collectors Digest article on Twins-issued postcards. Let me know if you'd like me to scan and post it.
Nice selection of postcards! You should add it to the postcard thread which has a fantastic viewing of postcards. You may find some of yours in there...
Yes, please post that article if you have time.
Thanks also for the postcard thread....I just added pictures of a few of my favorite.

Phil, I tried finding the article on the Twins' Team-issued postcards last night with no luck. I found out I need to label all the 3-ring binders I keep the ephemera in, so at least I got a start doing that!
I'm going to keep looking because I'd like to re-read that article now and take inventory of what I have.
Thanks for the motivation!
<< <i>It appears that only the Seaver, Berra, Rizzuto, Bill Russell and Billy Williams are actually signed and not a facsimlie. >>
The Berra and Seaver are likely pre-prints, not actually signed. Hard to tell from your pics but those pics were commonly sent to TTM requests c/o the Mets in the 1970s.
