1955 Parkhurst Tim Horton. That's a LOT of donuts!

As popular as this set is I never knew that a PSA 8 Tim Horton would ever bring this much!

There is a TON of extra space in that holder. Both L-R and T-B. Common for the issue?

Those corners look weird (pointy) to me.

The 55's are an odd size not the same as other Parkhurst years. They use to put them in Mylar sleeves
but changed to this size holder. By the looks of the Bailey they may have a holder for them now? The Horton is a
very very tough card of a very popular HOFer especially in that condition. It will be a long time before you see another.
I wonder what the Lumley would go for in an 8?

The "wear" in the red on the edge is not really "wear" but typical color fade which appears yellowish or white depending upon the light. Actually pretty common on the issue as I've seen it on minty fresh cards as well as beaters (although on the beaters, it usually really is wear...).

The one thing that does concern me is that the right edge does not have a consistent "fade." That is not common...

BTW this is a pop 8 card but as jackstraw wrote they do not come up very often. (I'm sure this is the first PSA 8 I've ever seen.) The seller (ChampsandBums) also had an equally nice Maurice Richard ($1650) and Jean Beliveau ($666). It is a very difficult set to find in high grade because of the red border. Most of the set only has a pop 7 or 8 in PSA 8.

I can only imagine how much the Quaker Oats version of Horton would sell for in this condition (assuming one even exists).

Or the Q.O of Lumley, Bailey or Richard in this condition. Talk about fireworks..

only two bids above $900 -- it just so happens that those two bids were both in excess of $5,000
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I was actually shocked when I looked at the pop report. 1 Lumley 8 and I remember when Harvey scored it.
He said it was not a very clean 8 as in the white back ground was brownish. That is also common with this issue.
I used to have alot of this set in PSA 7/8 and SGC 88-96. Yes I got an SGC 96 Toe Blake that I sold for 100 bucks I think.
I can't believe there is 8 PSA 8's on the Montreal Forum and Maple Leafs cards. You want to talk about tough cards.
