Wow, this is a 4

I've looked at this card as close as I can using my 2.0 reading magnifiers and can't see anything wrong with it. No wrinkles, I just don't see anything to drop it to a 4. What can I be missing?

Is there any kind of bump or indentation on the surface? What does the back look like?

Must be a wrinkle somewhere on the card ... may be kind of hard to see with 2.0 magnifiers ... try a 15x loupe instead.

How's the back? Is there any other surface problems like gloss loss or stain? Could have taken a hit with a NQ request.

    Here's the back.

I now see 2 little surface bumps, very small. I sent in an Eddie Murray rookie with a bigger bump than this has and got an 8. Would a tiny bump drop it to a 4?

I duno if it's a crease? But there looks to be a 'crimp' under the 1 in 951 RBI totals?

On the left reverse edge that crosses the red line?

    Or maybe not!?

    Damn nice looking 4 tho!!!!!!!!
  • good eye, i see the wrinkle on the back. thats a beautiful 4.

My question is, I have had PSA 5's with creases and wrinkles so why is this one only a 4.

It looks like there's a crease on the front that matches up with the crease seen on the back. Just to the left of Gil there's a crease line with wear, and to the right of Hodges there also looks like a crease line.

  • The grader must have been hungover with blurry and watery eyes while analyzing that Hodges. Terrific looking card, one I would be very happy to add to the ole collection.
