Anyone paying that big signing fee for Bill Russell? I just looked the the prices. I see Mo Vaughn is getting $40 to sign a card...that's a little steep, no? I'd probably pay $25.
Was there from noon to about 2. The usual suspects with the usual stuff for the most part. I even overheard some dealers commenting on how nice someone else's stuff was, but it was the same items from previous years that had not sold. I am sure there are deals to be had, but you have to dig through a lot of boxes to find them. I did pick up some dirt cheap boxes of stickers and I mean dirt cheap (2 - 87 panini hockey, and 1 each of 86, 87, and 88 Topps for $5 total). Also, an 85 Topps rack pack with Clemens rookie on the back, and a couple of packs of 80 Topps Hockey which I will eventually rip. If anyone thinks that cards from any era are scarce, go to this show as it seems they are endless in nice condition, but pricey.
Always buying Gretzky PSA Graded

As usual I was pretty disapointed today, there was a TON of Raw stuff mostly baseball. Being on the hunt for Vintage Football I happened upon a bunch of dealers with a small stack of 52 Bowmans in fair to good condition with the usual "Book" price on them for EX+ only to be told by dealers that that was just a starting point and they could offer a much better deal especially if I buy more than one card, being amused I politely declined and moved on.
Vic Stanley from Psafootball.com had a nice set up with a gorgeous selection of 55 Bowmans in Raw condition and suprisingly a bunch of high end PSA 8 & 9 1950 and 1951 Bowmans, unfortunately nothing I needed though.
It was a fun afternoon, and I picked up about 5 cards that I liked fairly cheap so all in all wasnt a bad day.
Went today, walked around for 3 hours, bought 5 empty monster boxes and a $5 Gretzky starting line-up for my son and that was it. Same old tired inventory from dealers who'd rather take the stuff home than sell it. Honestly I do much better here. At least when people take the time to list stuff here they are usually looking to actually move it, not just show it off to the "buddies".
Geez, the show doesn't sound too promising. I was looking to try and get there on Sunday. I've never been there on a Sunday and hope that there may be some good deals, if the dealers haven't already packed up and left when I get there.
Think small local show on steroids. Lots of modern glossy manufactured patch cards. Tons of raw cards at graded prices, the same ones from the last 5 shows there. A few graded here and there at SMR or higher. And of course you have the wax dealers out of NY and NJ. Tons of stuff that will sell at 50% of it's initial price in a month.
If you're looking to finish some vintage raw sets it's not too bad, but looking for flipable material is just a waste of time IMO. Can do better here and on ebay in the same amount of time.
Some deals to be had, some great people to talk to, lots of overprices raw and graded. A few guys had a couple good prices as far I as I could tell. I did way better at the yard sale this morning! I will be there again tomorrow
was there 9:30 to 11:30.mostly all overpriced.lot of new junk.psa &scg had no action. some other ,ccg or something had 2 people at it.not impressed, was a member for years, was much larger(better then).did meet an old friend ,mason, working there.cecil fielder was very nice, came around the table to a guy in a wheelchair, put his arm around him and let countless pictures be taken.
Sorry I missed the link earlier - I was at the show today from about 12 to 3. Similar experiences for me - some great vintage stuff, but all very overpriced. I almost walked out without any purchases, but did grab this cabinet at the end of the day for pretty cheap I thought ($100).
