I need a Joe Torre. They are pretty expensive. I could have had one for $300, but I passed.

ditto on finding them and then having the cash to pay for them. I was trying to put together a set some time ago when they were not so popular. Picked up the Yaz raw...since graded out at PSA-5...for $500. You will not touch them for less that $700 for commons and lcose to $2,000 for stars. Much much more for the Ryan.

Can someone enlighten me on this and other Topp's Test issues? How were they distributed, if at all? Were these produced for internal use at Topp's and never meant to see the light of day?

I think they were a test issue never released to the public? They were meant to go around a piece of bubble gum.
Most are found without any folding.Complete nm set of 24 books for 15 grand.

Aric---type in a search for Topps insert, test and supplemental baseball issues 1949-1980. You will find a great piece of research on Topps test and insert issues by collector David Hornish.

I have a set of the comics, and an unopened pack, graded autheentic by GAI. They may therefore have had a limited test ditribution in some location. All of my individual comics are, however, unfolded
