Best pen for autographing cards?

I need some quick help. I never get anything autographed but today I get a chance to see George Foster in person and I have a 75 Toppps card I'd like him to autograph. Do I need to use one of those fine point Sharpies?? George is managing the Lake Co. Blackbears in the FWBL(Florida Winter Baseball League) and they're having an intersquad scrimmage today that's free to the public. Advice is appreciated. The game isn't until 3:30 so I have a little time.

On a card from the 70s, a fine point Sharpie or a broad point Sharpie would work.

  • Topps uses Staedtler Lumocolor markers for all of their autographs. They dry instantly and WILL NOT smudge. From personal experience, they are the best markers in the world.

Lumocolors can smudge too. I have seen it happen with a lefthanded signer.
