Father living in NY: "Son, I want you to sell my baseball and football cards for me on eBay".

Son living in PA: "No problem, Dad!"

Father living in NY: "Do you know anything about baseball and football cards, like their conditions or values?"

Son living in PA: "Nope, but I'll certainly give it a whirl!"

Father living in NY: "Sounds great! Here's what I've got ...."

Son living in PA: "Looks like ya got close to $5 million worth, Dad!" ... "How 'bout we start it off at $250,000 with a buyin' price of $4,500,000?"

Father living in PA: "Okay, but only if the buyer can prove he's got the money!"

Son living in PA: "I'm one step ahead of ya, Dad. I'll update the terms so that the buyer will have to meet 3 criteria before he gets the cards!"

Father living in PA: "Oh, and don't bother taking any photos or scans of the cards. If anyone is interested in seeing the cards, heck, I'll just hop on the next flight out to show them the cards myself, for that personal touch!"

I love nice crisp cornes. Crispy cornes is really good if you put in on the grill and heat it up.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

There are 580 total cards listed in his auction. That would be an average of $431 per card at his minimum bid of $250,000. I can't imagine anyone burned any of their brain cells creating that auction thinking someone would actually bid.

Wonder what is the listing fee on a $250,000 starting bid?

    $4
  • He correctly spells all of the most difficult names from that era yet he incorrectly spells (Mantel) & (Yankeys).

Appears he is trying to use the seller psychology that he doesn't know much about sports or cards and he is ripe for the picking!

P.S. "camera flash might hurt the cards"--that's a new one.

Interesting idea about the misspellings being on purpose. However, I would think trying to do this on a smaller scale, like 1 - 5 K would actually have some chance of success. This one has 0.00% chance of any success.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

He spells Red Schoendienst correctly yet misspells Mantle a number of times.

<<< Unfortunatly I did not take pictures and my dad did not know if a flash would damage them so he told me no flash photagraphy and absolutly no handeling the cards or removing them from their sleaves. >>>

This seller is familiar with procedures at art museums and so then must be a fine connoisseur of baseball cards.

  • The C-4 to C-10 grade refers to the grading of Action Figures. It's essentially the same as PSA-4 to PSA 10 with defects(bent corers, creases, blister damage reducing the overall grade.

Otherwise, it's true about flash photography, taking a picture of cards that old can turn the cards into dust!
  • jswietonjswieton Posts: 2,870 ✭✭✭
I hate when I damage my cards from taking to many photos using flash photography. What’s even worse is when I use my scanner and it puts creases in my cards. image
  • He says one of his cards is a 1950 "Tops". Maybe I should cash in some of my dimonds, rubbies, and emerals to pick this up.
  • He changed the grading scale to PSA8 - PSA10.

Sometimes I really don't understand you hatters. I'm sure this auction is legit, so bid with confidence and bid often.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
