I'm getting a real thrill as a player that I coached in Little League Baseball, Zach Collaros, is subbing for the injured Tony Pike. Two touchdown runs for Zach, so far 31-17 Cincy.
I caught the 4th quarter of that game last night and was very impressed by Zach! The kid showed a lot confidence and was very poised in tough situations! It was a great opportunity for Zach to be in the limelight with so many scouts in the crowd. Too bad it was at Pike's expense. It was interesting to hear the announcers talking about how Coach Kelly utilizes multiple QBs in any given game.
I'm sure some of Zach's skills date back to your coaching days with him. You must have been proud watching him play last night!
That kid was awesome. You'd a thought he was the starter. I just moved to Cincy last year and am just now starting to get into local sports... and at a good time. Bengals and Bearcats are both rolling.
I remember when Collaros signed people thought he was nuts because he was going to be behind Mauk and then Pike. Cincy Bearcats football got a lift from Dantonio first, and Brian Kelley has taken them to the once unthinkable. Good year to watch football in the Nati.
