1951 Bowman - how did I do ?

All that vintage football posting .. dammitt !

I saw this and was reading about the 1951 Championship Los Angeles Rams (don't they wish they were still there ?)

Anyway - a Lincoln note (and free postage) got me this - how did I do ?

The Rams helmet has been a constant for so long - other than the change of horn color to white and now bronze.

This guy was a college phenom with lots of firsts ...

I was thinking an outside chance for a 3 maybe 3.5 ?

Very nice card

I'd say if there are no hidden creases and/or problems with the back, that card looks like it should get a 4.

here is the back. I cannot tell what the dark area is ... definately not gum.

First off, what's the idea changing your avatar mid-thread!

That mark on the back of the card is common on 1951 Bowmans (both baseball and football). I believe it's a "roller-mark" from the printing press. It shouldn't keep the card from getting a 4, IMHO.

Wow, I just noticed the card says Tank played in a "Vulcan" bowl game. I wonder if he met or played against Mr. Spock!!!

Looks like a 4 to me. All the 51 Bowman's have that mark. I think they came with a cookie and that is from the cookie? Maybe I am confusing that with another issue.
