Justin, that is a great auto. I have him on an index card with his name imprinted on the card. He also sent me a small card with his "2 sets of 3's" which features a small picture of himself and his dad. He signed his name under his picture and wrote dad under his fathers name!
That card is displayed in my office and never fails to get a reaction from people when they read these words of wisdom:
Don't whine, complain or make excuses. Never lie, cheat or steal.
Happy birthday Coach. One more year to go, and you join the ultra-exclusive club of celebrities who lived to see their 100th birthday. As far as I know, that group currently includes Bob Hope, George Burns, and that's it.
Can anyone think of any others? No cheating.........

Was listening to Bill Walton this morning. Very informative. Like a couple of Wooden's quotes---" Be Quick, but not in a hurry". "It's what you learn..after you know it all". "The smartest man in the room usually has made the most mistakes".
<< <i>Happy Birthday- I think Coach Knight did more with less talent than Wooden. Bob knight is the greatest coach of all time in my Book. >>
You got it all wrong... Wooden wasn't in this for the sport. Maybe you ought to check and see how he recruited players and how many guys under Wooden's coaching career are CEO'S in the business sector... and NOT just washed up ball players LIKE under Coach Knight!! And yes..i'm old enough to know...

How about all the players that Wooden bought and that got paid while they were at UCLA? Walton himself admits that UCLA cheated like crazy while he was there.
collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
Being an IU grad '94, I'm a fan of Knight as well. Wooden won his championships in an era when the tournament only had between 22 and 25 teams. His last championship in 1975, the field was 32 teams. With more teams and more potenital for upsets, I think Knight's accomplishments of final fours in 73, 76, 81, 87, and 92 (some would argue '02 as well) are a greater accomplishment. Add in that other than Isiah Thomas was really the only NBA star to play for Knight.
Just a great guy from everything I've heard - pure class. In fact my brother and his friend were out in CA and through a connection, went to Wooden's house and got to hang out with him for a while (probably 10 years ago or less)...my brother said it was an awesome experience to just sit and talk basketball with him.
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.
