Letters touching (that could just be extra gold foil though) but if they left no space between the letters, that would explain the star looking further away.

These aren't too common, but they are far from the rarest of the 1991 errors. Jim Kelly LL with R-symbol and no nflpa logo is much rarer. As are Mike Prior and Chip Banks with mission text on back (series 2). Steve Tasker NFL Replay with 1/2 of R-symbol and no nflpa logo is another rare variation.
