eBay scan quality

What do you think?

Are eBay sellers who display fuzzy scans (or when you click "enlarge" have a scan that is no larger than the little one you can already see) hiding something or seriously scan challenged? I pass on many many items because of the poor scan quality, regardless of the grade. What's the deal with these guys?

  • Just people that are technology challenged for the most part. The ones that show a glare where the qualifier is and cut off the tops are the ones to really worry about.

I have difficulty with my scanner when scanning graded cards. If someone could please help me I would greatly appreciate it. I assume that buyers have sometimes passed on my cards because of the poor scan quality. Why are my raw scans clear and crisp and my graded scans a p.o.s.??

You need a scanner with an element containing a charged coupled device. Three-dimensional objects look terrible otherwise.

Is there a setting on most scanners for a"charged coupled device"? I am using a Cannon Canoscan lide 60 which is a few years old. I am not very savvy when it comes to the scanner, so any help would be great.
  • Just buy one of the HP Photosmart all in ones. I have the 2610 and it does a pretty good job.

    It costs under $140
