Another eBay "shipping" question

If an item is sold on eBay, and the buyer wants to pick it up locally and pay cash, is there any risk involved for the seller? Nothing I could think of, but it is a higher dollar transaction, so I thought I better at least ask the question.
Thanks

I would suggest meeting him somewhere public and safe. I don't think I'd want joe stranger knowing where I live and what I have. Also in a real high dollar deal you'll be there with a bucket of cash and a stranger. Again not a great scenario.

Yes. It's that he now knows where you live.

No risk, unless he tells his burglar buds you have a bunch
of valuable stuff at your house.

Just make sure you get CASH.

    No checks or MOs.

    NOTE:

NEVER accept PayPal on a local pickup.

The exception is if you have a PayPal point-of-sale terminal
    for card-present transactions.

Yeah, and if you followed what happened to Henry (Mintmoondog) it's got some people with large collections spooked
  • Just don't let them pay with Paypal or they could file an item not received claim, and you'd have no tracking recourse.
  • meet at the donut shop. he pays cash, you bring a friend and loaded revolver image no worries!

I had a guy ask me this once. I didn't want to meet up with him personally so I said I'd ship the item (tickets) free. To me it was worth paying the shipping cost (which was not much considering we were in the same county) than to meet some stranger and get caught up making small talk or having to sit around and wait for him. Plus people would think I was meeting somebody off of a dating website. Not cool.
