1997 Donruss Studio Football 8x10 Artist Proofs

I understand the Artist Proofs come in two colors, Silver and Gold. My question is, did they come in numbered and in unnumbered versions? The Standard Catalog of Football notes they are all numbered but mine are not and I see one on eBay that says it is.

Thanks, Mark

did they stop making the standard catalog of football cards in 2006 ?

anyone have one for trade/buy / sell ?
    Buying:
Topps White Out (silver) letters Alex Gordon
80 Topps Greg Pryor “No Name"
    90 ProSet Dexter Manley error
90 Topps Jeff King Yellow back
    1958 Topps Pancho Herrera (no“a”)
81 Topps Art Howe (black smear above hat)
    91 D A. Hawkins BC-12 “Pitcher”
  • Alright, I think I figured this out (in case anyone cares).

The Silvers were limited to 3500 and not numbered, the Golds were limited to 1000 and were individually numbered.

    Are you referring to the 1997 Leaf Signature 8 x 10's ?

If so, I don't think there were parallels to the non-autographed versions. The autographed versions did, however, have a "1st Down Marker" parallel that was limited to the 1st 100 signed.

I don't know of any other 8 x 10 Leaf Football from 1997. Not really sure if this helped or not, but it will help my thread count!

You are referring to the Donruss Studio 8 x 10's.

Gold Portrait Proofs were numbered to 1000
Silver Portrait Proofs were numbered to 4000.

Am I starting to help out, yet?

You are correct, I am referred to Studio....Doh!! Will fix title.

The SCF says there are 3500 silver, the fact that you have 4000 referenced (I guess from Beckett?), helps confirm that the silvers are not numbered. Also, my silvers are not numbered and none of the silvers on eBay claim to be numbered. The one gold on eBay does claim to be numbered "/1000" and the gold I purchased the other day is suppose to be 0231/1000.
