dear goodness not another ebay issue question!

i "won" and item from some douchebag and he never sent the item. I opened a grievance through paypal.

I get an email from paypay and "won" again! I'm feeling lucky at this point.refund was put into your account.....blah blah blah.

The email states that I got a refund and then i go back to ebay and Neg the crap of him. 1st negative I have left in over 1000 transactions. It was justified. He lied and I was VERY patient waiting almost 30 days to requesting a refund.

So I get another email today saying :

The refund sent by xxxxxxxxxx (kingsportscards@gmail.com) did not clear from the sender's bank. You have not received funds for this payment in your PayPal account.

Please contact xxxxxxxxxxx regarding this refund.

wth? I thought i was protected against this by using paypal? any answers?

    Yeah don't leave negative feedback until you clear the funds.

    If your payment receipt says


    "PayPal Buyer Protection: ELIGIBLE"


    you are covered.


    Call PP and they will fix it for you. It may take a bit
    of time, because PP will try to get the money from
    your seller BEFORE they make good with their own
    money.

    If you tell them how unsafe you now feel about shopping
    on EBAY, they might send you a discount coupon.

    I think what happened here was the seller did not have money in his PP acct to cover the refund
    and was using his bank acct to fund it (that can take a few days to clear) when it has happened to me the refund
    would say 'pending' my guess is that after he saw the neg he emptied out that acct.

    Or he never had enough in it to begin with.


    Or is the refund still pending? Have you gone to PP and looked at your acct.?


    In any event hopefully it is like Storm says and your transaction was 'covered'

    Thanks for the responses,i waited until Paypal.com said that the money cleared before I negged the liar thats why I was so confused. My paypal account says that I have the money in it so I guess I should be happy and leave it alone.
