Uggh. They're back...

Comments

  • Wow, and he has 93 of these "proofs" up
  • Hopefully others will start messaging them about it and they'll get taken down or revised to reflect what they actually are (fat chance).

  • Okay, I'll bite...what are they?

They are created by boiling any chromium ( Finest, Chrome etc) cards. I purchased several of them when they first started showing up back in the early 2000's. They were pretty popular up until a year or two ago when it was revealed that not only are they not proofs or test issues but that they are cards that have been boiled, that have then had their paper backings removed ( i.e. damaged cards ).

Wow, I knew they must have been some sort of fake but I never would have guessed this.

My little test that I did awhile back.

    Into the pot it goes.

    Let simmer.

    Remove.

    Finished proof.

And some cards just don't work that well.

I sent an email to the seller asking him if he knew that the company stated that the PROOFS were never released! LOL

Also asked him if the term "boiling" means anything to him.

I'll let you know if I get a response.

Winters must be really cold up there in Maine. You have to boil cards? Is this done for food or heat? image

How much do you want for the Danny Ferry proof?

Well it beats eating leather boots. image

Actually, it's just more proof of Kitna being a poser.

OMG I think I'm gonna boil my whole master set of 2001 Topps Chrome Football and sell it for $1,000,000.00 as a "Proof Master Set" I then can quit my job and boil Topps Chrome cards at home and just collect the money!
  • I would have thought that the "frozen" version would be more common up north -

I have a few "rare" broiled versions for sale if anyone is interested.

Also - one set of mint microwave "black" unissued cards.

PM me for these "hot" cards.

I just got done doing the dirty work and filing the report on ljbiggestfan2
  • If you look at the seller in the original link, he seems to have all things that are rare and never issued in packs. Are any of his cards NOT altered??

Rare non-autographed version, never released in packs. Rare non-serial #'d, never released in packs.

What does he do, rub them off, peel them off somehow??

Jeff has too much time on his hands if he's "boiling" cardsimage

What's the stove doing there? I thought up North they didn't have electricity and you guys cooked over a fire or something? image

    j/k - Dal
