Any Shaq rookie cards or cards from 88-93 worth saving or having graded??

I have a stash of Shaq rookie cards among others that I haven't looked at in years! Are their any worth having graded? Sorry for the newbie type question as I'm a coin guy! Haven't followed sports cards seriously since 1993. The boxes and boxes of cards I have from 87-93 are one the projects I'd like to look into in the next few months!! Any advice or direction is appreciated.

  • Not really worth getting graded as 10's rookies usually go for $15 to $30. I think the Beam Team rookie is worth a few bucks other then that not much.

yeah, not really much, 87-88/88-89 Fleer in high grade sells well but that's because they are condition sensitive...
  • If you have unopened material, sell it as such. Unfortunately, 87-93 are known as the junk years......when a limited edition of 10,000 was scarce...to answer your question regarding Shaq rookies, his 92 Stadium Club Beam Team #21 is worth grading as well as any autographed Classic cards. Any Jordan inserts are also worthwhile in Gem Mint grade(but especially tough).I can't think of anything else in those NBA years.
  • Like mentioned above If it is truly gem mint .Get graded but if you detect a flaw then don't mess with grading. Look for jordan cards from that era like his inserts and make sure to loupe the cards if they are mint then I would send to psa on a specials sub.

The last two sold for between $40 and $50. I had a few a couple of years back and got around $70 for each of them.
