Home Trading Cards & Memorabilia Forum

DSL Sports Ebay experience.

Bought a 1954 Bowman PSA 7 card for my collection. $8.50 plus shipping. Card arrives on Wednesday with the huge black scuff on the bubble mailer along with a three inch tear in the bubble mailer. Surprisingly the card is in still in the mailer. I pull it out and the black scuff, which must have been a roller at the post office, transferred onto one of the corners of the card. It was on the roller so long it filed down the corner and cracked the back of the PSA case.

Damn, I was pissed. I email DSL about the problem and state I would like $5 to get it reholdered with my next submission. A couple of bits later I get a Paypal email with my refund and another email from Shane at DSL apologizing for the issue.

First time I ever had a card damaged from them, though not their fault.

Nice guys!

Purchased many of my PSA 1968s from DSL when I was putting my set together several years ago. They always were a great seller.

Yes, PayPal is now manadatory. DSL was one of the few big sellers that didn't take PayPal before the policy change.

I've bought many cards from them and have always had a great experience.

  • Just yesterday I opened a high dollar card that I won from DSL. It was packaged expertly and I had outstanding service the entire way. They're good sellers - almost flawless. However, they do make a specific request to buyers that they be rated "5 Stars" in all categories.

I've always been pleased with their service. I never mind if they (or any other seller) politely request 5 star feedback. I think that's a smart idea.

  • It's nice to hear about positive experiences and good sellers on ebay. I'll share a recent one of mine. I bought this card from cardboardclassicsllc and when I received it I saw that somehow the grader had missed a pinhole above and to the left of the hat. Even though the auction stated "no returns on graded cards" I contacted the seller and he (Kevin) told me to send it back and promptly issued a refund, including the cost to ship it back.

I also have bought many cards from dsl and their service has always been top-notch.

It's a shame because aside from the pinhole, it's the nicest example of this card I've seen:

PP is not mandatory, what is mandatory is for sellers to accept some form of electronic payment.

    //////////////////////////////////////

    Correct.

    ......

    Accepted Payments Policy

Our Accepted Payments policy helps ensure that buyers and sellers on eBay are offered safe, convenient payment options.

For most categories, sellers need to offer one or more of the following electronic payment choices:

    PayPal

    ProPay

    Moneybookers

    Paymate

Credit card or debit card processed through the seller's Internet merchant account

Sellers may also offer to accept (other) payments upon pickup.

    ........................

    Other Restrictions:

Sellers aren't allowed to make statements like:

    “Contact us for payment information.”

“Contact us for other payment methods.”

“Contact us for your preferred payment method.”

“Buyers may request to pay by check or money order.”

There is only one exception: Sellers who offer payment upon pickup may include the following statement in their listings:

“Contact me for payment methods to pay on pickup.”

    I stand corrected.

Edited to say. "I stand corrected." That's what I said after my successful session with the chiropractor.

Just last week I received the wrong card from DSL. Shane mailed me the correct one immediately, I returned the wrong card and received a full refund within days. I continue to by from them. Tony

I've purchased a lot of cards from DSL and zero problems.

The wonder of customer service - so difficult for many companies to understand, and yet really it's simple.
