How's this for a bump?

First of all, I think this is hilarious. I sent this 1971 Keds Kedscards Johnny Bench in on a sub in February 2005. I think this was pretty close to when PSA started grading hand-cut cards. I had this Bench in my collection for many years ungraded and knew it was a nice card. Prior to submission, I very carefully, though not perfectly, cut the card with an exacto knife. I recall that I had quite a bit of room around the borders to work with. When I sent it in the first time, it pulled a 5:

I was annoyed when I got the grade, and there it sat in my collection for the last 4 plus years. Anyway, as an afterthought on my July Special Sub, I decided to break this bad boy out and send it in a second time. There's not a crease, wrinkle, stain, or dinged corner on this card. I did absolutely nothing to this card after removing it from the PSA 5 holder, other than to pop it in a soft sleeve and Card Saver I. I was very pleased when I got my grades towards the end of August and this one came back a 9 this time:

There have only been seven of this card graded according to the pop report, but with this one graded twice, that makes only as many as six. I see some lucky dude pulled a 10. I'm a Bench collector, as well as a collector of all the other Big Red Machine guys, so this one will stay in the collection.
Just thought I'd share my experience.

That is the only explanation I can think of.
Not a good circumstance, except for the bumpee.
I ruined a Drysdale '66 bazooka once b/c I messed up w/ a utility knife and straightedge. Should have had a professional do it
I had this one raw and sent it in on the same sub. I didn't even make a guess on the grade, but was happy with a 7:
Ugh, past time for bed. I just haven't had much time the last couple weeks to go through this sub.

Congrats on the 9, I hope it's correct.
