I just finished up non sports pack run that I always wanted as a kid.

This is a pretty stupid set and definitely doesn’t deserve its own post but it brought a lot of memories back from when I was a kid. I am thinking about having it graded the next time PSA offers a pack special.

If you think that, then you think that about millions of other men in their late 20s to mid 30s

Believe it or not when I was young I traded a Giant Size X-Men #1 (First appearance of modern X-Men) for a case of Series 1 GPK, I opened them all (obviously these were very gradable cards), put sets together and sold them for almost nothing. For YEARS I kicked myself for giving up the comic book, the legacy now however is pissing away the GPK cards. Ughhh... thanks for the bad memories but congrats on the great pack set.
  • On an awesomeness scale of 1 to 10, that is about a 72. Where did you find the first series?
  • John, Are you freaking kidding me, This ABSOLUTELY deserves its own post! Thats awesome man, I remember ripping Garbage Pail Kids as a kid like they were going out of style. I wish I had a box right now, I would rip it! Good Times.
  • Awesome!!!

Unfortunately my first series set ended up plastered on my Trapper Keeper, but this brings back a ton of memories.

I built 5 complete sets of GPK for customers.

I wish I kept one for myself.

I do have a 1st series set and some second series cards .

    Steve
    Good for you.

Hilarious!!! And yes, I was a GPK freak too. Those things were all the rage, along with muscle men. haha.

  • I used to walk home from school and every day we would pass by a gas station. Every day I would have to decide if I got a few gummi worms or a pack of GPK. GPK usually won. Only regret is that the GPK's were always right next to the 86 Fleer basketball. Never bought a single pack of the Fleer. image

Don't you mean walk home from cutting school?

    I was 12. Didn't become a juvenile delinquent until I was 14.
  • I collected the 1st through the 4th or 5th series when they came out. I also had the buttons and some other related collectibles. I was a fan of them you could say.

The first two series were the first card sets I put together by opening packs.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
