LOL. you shoulda seen the USPS clerk's face when i thanked her for pre-crushing it for me.
i lightly shook the box and there wasn't any sounds of broken plastic bouncing around in there so i was fairly confident.....but, i drove home really, really fast.
<< <i>.....BOTH sides of the carton crushed inward.......... >>
Pictures please. >>
heh. box processed....it's in the recycle pile, so imagine a PSA carton with a tallboy lot inside, 4 of the brown boxes placed snugly at the bottom of the square and a 5th box of cards placed on top and surrounded by packing p-nutz....it was presumably an unsolvable math puzzle.
the box was crushed inward on both sides at roughly a 45 degree angle, but the top box with cards in it was left unscathed.....so imagine the upper half of the carton looked like a pyramid with a flat-top haircut.
here's a few of the tallboys....need to cut down the glare, but all i gots a cheesy digital, i'll try to use the scanner later, my wife is busy with the family 'puter.
<< <i>I always wondered why they wore their jerseys backwards?? We can tell who it is by the name on the card. Is there a story behind this?? >>
I've always figured it's due to Topps not having the rights to portray the team logos, just like Donruss this past year in baseball, and presumably Upper Deck next year. The same thing happened with Topps football cards in the 1970's. They had to airbrush all the team logos off the uniforms and helmets for the cards.

Topps didn't want to pay the NBA licensing fees so they weren't allowed to use team logo/names besides the generic New York in the early 70's
Current obsession, all things Topps 1969 - 1972
