OT: any fine china collectors in the house??

We have so many different types of collectors on these boards, was wondering if anyone has any china knowledge (not the country.....the dinner/serving sets)
I was recently given a set from an aunt who claims they came from her grandmother....but she is THE CRAZY aunt, so we really have no idea where they came from, she could have just recently bought them at Sears for all we know.
Any help here?
