This is kinda crazy if you remember what this card sold for 10 years ago.

I'm surprised it still sells for that much.
  • It's a shame that PSA doesn't differentiate between the 1989 Donruss factory-issued cards and the wax issued. The factory sets ones are clearly in much better shape, whereas the wax ones are nearly impossible to find a true 10 in (at least in Griffey's case).

  • Hi Allen,

How much was one of those going for 10 years ago? I never really followed prices back then.

    thanks,

That auction was for 10 of them.

They sold for about $2,000 each in 2000. So that lot of 10 would have been $20,000.00 rather than $282.00

I had a few Fleer Griffey RC's graded 10 from my last few subs. I sold them all for around $25 each. I didnt think I would get that much for them.

Hopefully none of us were foolish enough to pay $2,000 for a card from the most mass produced year in the history of sports cards! $2,000!? Yikes! That is f'ing scary.

Anyone remember what the XYZ 10's were going for on shop at home?

Yep, I bought a case of '89 Donruss that year to try to cash in. After pulling the 9th or 10th severely off centered Griffey I quit and sold the rest of the case.

Around 98 99 I was paying 80 dollars for a PSA or SGC 9 Grifffey rookie. I still have a
the Bowmans with the price tags on the back. I remember the Donruss Best was a 150
all day long in a 9. I put an ad in the SCD selling a PSA 9 Griffey for 150 and I had 50 phone calls.
My first Ebay feedback was for an SGC 96 Bowman Griffey
for 100 bucks. Funny thing is I thought I stole it.
