Max Update - 9/10/09

Hey folks.
My little boy Max is hanging in there at the NICU. Turned 6 weeks old Tuesday. Is at week 32 gestation age today.
He is still off the ventilator (been 2 weeks) and continues to do well on his si-pap machine. They are only giving him 10 blasts a minute to keep his lungs inflated, however, he is taking between 30-50 breaths a minute, so the machine is really not doing the "breathing" for him - just helping out a little.
He now weighs in at a whopping 2lbs - 8oz. A full pound up from his birth weight. He's still in the 3%-tile size wize, so I'm starting to think jockey or musician instead of starting quaterback or point guard.
Other than that, things still look positive for him. In the next few weeks we hope to ween him completely off the breathing machines, put on another pound, and hopefully he moves up from the plastic "bubble" isolate and into a real crib. Still at least two months before a possible discharge I recon. I better get going on the nursery I guess. The first 6 weeks flew by, and I'm sure the beginning of November will be here before we know it.
Thanks for all the support.
Oh - If anyone has a nice, perfectly centered 61 Manlte in PSA/SGC 5/6 for sale, let me know. I'm ready to buy a few cards again.
Cheers - Bob

I hear that. Days seem to merge together and in our instance we even lost sense of time and forgot what day it was once.
Will keep sending good thoughts your way.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
