I love my cards!

Ok so I started collecting in the early 90's....mostly buying packs of whatever and going to card shops buying just any cards that caught my eye of players that I liked. I started out with baseball, but then eventually moved into Basketball and then Hockey. Using the same formulas(packs+players I liked). A few years later I would eventually get married, have twins and get 100% into God,Family and Work. The only sports card I bought after 1994 was a Topps Ichiro Rookie(the year I got caught up in how many hits the guy was going to have! image Anyway...fast forward to 2009. After doing research and being interested in coins(sometimes obsessively) for a few years in my spare time, I have come to back to my cards. I recently started going through my cards and have dedicated a few minutes each night the past few weeks to going through everything. Since it is now baseball season, I started there. My "Special" 3 ring binder cards holds some of my favorite players and cards...most of which no one cares about. Guys like Cecil Fielder, Travis Fryman and Joe Carter. I liked the cards regardless of value. I can't wait to get into the Basketball box! image

  • Great Thread, I just moved from Pensacola FL to NC, but was fortunate to run into Travis Fryman on many occasions (He lives in Pensacola). He is a very godly man, and very involved at a major church in Pensacola. Hope you continue to get so much enjoyment out of the hobby.

Kdog08 nice thread..I'd say your a true collector in alot of ways. I would say you collect for the love of the cards and not the value.
I think alot look at value only.
  • That's what it's all about!
