Just got this one with the help of Bing for 695. Got the 53 Bowman last week. 1952 here I come....hope..Cracked the 53 out and sending to SGC no pinholes.
You did well on the Mantle's. I just purchased a 52 Bowman Mays in a PSA 6 from a board member using the BING with a total cost of about $575. Great deal.
<< <i>could be a filled in pinhole - under a blacklight, inexpensive to buy, you would see this if it is there, and see other possible doctoring as well. >>

Are you referring to the PSA 1 Mantle?

Yes because a pinhole gets an automatic PSA 1 - could also possibly be water damage to the card.
I have said for years, that if it's not "obvious" that PSA should list on the flip why a card received a 1, such as mentioning a pinhole...or a card received any grade that isn't obvious such as a mint looking card receiving a 5, and it should be mentioned on the flip that there is a wrinkle.
collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started

If the 53 Bowman had a pinhole that was filled in the card would generally
receive an Authentic grade NOT a numerical one.
