1959 Official Yankee Yearbook

Anyone have an idea on the value of an Official 59 Yankee Yearbook. Great piece I bought for 50 cents in 1959. Cover has teas and is off due to the many viewings over the years. The rest of the book is excellent. image

in checking eBay's completed sales, I noted one sold for about $60...With the condition yours is in, you could probably expect to get about half of that (although not bad for your initial 50 cent investment)

Condition is VERY important in those programs....I would put it on Ebay for $9.99 and see if it gets interest. You might not get more than the opening bid, but that is a fair price for that program in that condition......

I would start it for more the 9.99.

    more like 24.99

You can always lower the price.

for 9.99 you might as well keep it.
    Good for you.

On the other hand, an auction with a lower starting price will attract more interest - once people focus on it and see themselves owning it they are more likely to bid high at the end just to make sure they get it - and all you need is two people who have that mind set to get a top price. Nate Sanders has one for sale for $125. Link
  • I sell pretty many vintage baseball and football yearbooks and considering it's the Yankees and a championship edition, I personally would list it for $24.99 no matter the condition (obviously expecting a high ending bid if in better condition). Just my opinion though. I've had Packer yearbooks from the 60's hit the $70 range, though they were in near perfect condition. I'd bet it would sell at the $24.99 starting bid, maybe higher, mid $30's. You can always relist it if it doesn't sell at that price. Oh yeah, and this is assuming all the pages are present, intact, and not as damaged as the cover.

Edited to add: If it doesn't sell for what you'd like to get for it, I'd keep it. $9.99 is too low to get rid of something that you actually purchased in the year issued. Again, just my opinion.

  • I love this Board. You guys are such a great fountain of knowledge! For $24.95, I'm keeping it. Just looking at the Mantle page and reminiscing is worth more than that, even for a Dodgers/Buffalo Bisons fan!

Exactly, for 24.95 I'd keep it too.
