0 feedback seller who has been a member for prolly 2 days and people bid on his card.

    hopefully they are bogus bids.

    When will people wake up?

You can't buy a 52 Mantle off ebay and expect to get it from 0 feedback sellers.

Geez is it really that hard of a concept to understand?

    Steve
    Good for you.

Who is the scumbag? The seller or the people stupid enough to buy a '52 Mantle from someone with 0 feedback? J/k image

In all sincerity though how do we know which is the "real" seller!?
  • WinPitcherWinPitcher Posts: 27,726 ✭✭✭
Even the so called real seller (I have no reason to doubt he isn't) has a feedback score of 55 and wants 20k

for the card. Yeah I'll send him 20k.

    Good for you.

Plus ... current top bidder looks like a shill!
  • I have a strong suspicion that the current high bidder is a CU forum user. Notice the current price, $12,345.67.
  • Is everyone else seeing the same item location that I am? It appears the scamster is in my hometown.

I bid $100,000. Somebody outbid me. I really don't want it.

  • << <i>I bid $100,000. >>

Damn, I guess I'm out of it.

I sent him an email stating I lived in his town and wanted to know if I could come pick it up from him and pay him in cash.

<<< PLEASE LET ME KNOW. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE CARD WILL NOT SHIP UNTIL FULL PAYMENT HAS COMPLETELY CLEARED. >>>

yes, so he has time to move from his apartment in LA to an apartment in another state.

Some of you guys that are putting up bogus bids are leaving yourselves open
to a neg. All this clown has to do is end the auction early to sell to the current highbidder.

When you don't pay he has the right to post negative feedback.

Since he is using another persons card you will be able to get the FB squashed but why even
    put yourself in that position?

    Steve

    Good for you.
  • Steve, sellers can not leave negative feedback.

Here's the latest reply to my question that I sent him concerning the same pic used by both sellers ...

    Dear xxxxxx,

HOW CAN SOMEONE HAVE THE CARD THAT HAS BEEN IN MY FAMILY FOR YEARS? I WILL CHECK IN TO IT AND REPORT IT IF SO.THANKS

also making the auction appear to be more legit - for someone new or not educated in the hobby of purchasing online you are just making their minds justify "well, other people are bidding"

I doubt anyone will outbid corvette1340.
  • Here's another good one.

    33 Goudey Ruth PSA 8
  • Never mind. Went poof already. Real card is being auctioned off my MemoryLane.

I retracted my bid as I didn't want any unneccesary hastle from ebay, paypal, etc...

just got this response to a question I asked about viewing the card in Atlanta.

"MY COUSIN SAID THAT HE CAN MEET YOU AT THE Tyree Building 679 Durant Pl NE"

I have no idea where that is, but what do you guys make of that?

That means if you show up with $20k in your pocket, we will never hear from you again.

I should get a group of like 10 people with guns and go meet the guy. If he tries something fine. If he actually has the Mantle, then we take it from him.

Talk about a blast from the past. Coinkydink or kismet? It is a
    TINY planet.

40+ years ago, my father tried to buy that little building; just as
the concept of preservation was being pumped as an element
of gentrification. He did not buy it, and I dont recall all of the details
of the transaction, BUT I recall one of the coolest GFs I ever had
    lived there.

It was later converted to condos. And, it is now on the National Register
    of Historic Places.

It was built about 1915 and by the time I met up with it, "charming"
was the only polite thing you could say about it.

There are units for sale now; some in various phases of default/foreclosure.

The location is super convenient, to just about everyplace.

I would not be afraid to meet somebody there, but I am a cowboy......
and I would leave my cash in the bank.

    Here is the building...........

    building

Here is what I think of when I see it.....................

I'm glad it's gone. I got a message from Ebay this AM that there was not enough evidence to remove it. Finally they found enough evidence!

I was hoping this plan might come together. Afterwards you could bite off the end of the cigar and say, "I love it when a plan comes together."
