    Seriously - cards from 1978/79 are considered vintage??????

    Is there a defining line on vintage because I always thought it was at least pre 1970.

    Plus you could get a Donruss or Fleer box as well for the $200 total cost.

    Vintage is 1980 and before. If you got 1981, its not vintage image

    OP - Not sure what to buy for $200, but I would go for an old "vintage" basketball box...

    The most vintage for what 200.00 can get you. Yes. But my standards for "VINTAGE" wax is pre 1972 . Cards Pre 1930

    I guess i'm going based on Beckett's standard. They say that the 1980 Topps, with Bird and Magic's RC is vintage and before. The 1981 Topps is out of luck...

    Is it different for each sport? I have no idea, I can just speak for basketball.

    1972 Bk packs sell for around 125.00
    1971-72 I have only owned 2 of these and I got 1000.00 each. For bk I would say Pre 1971 is vintage based on rarity and value.

    1985 Fleer baseball cello and remember my childhood. First set I opened when I got into collecting baseball, previous to that I only did football.

    If I had to only pick one it would be 84 Donruss baseball. Closest thing there is to "rare" in 80's baseball and I never could find any to bust in 1984. Also couldn't afford to bust any when our best local card shop finally got some in 1987.

    Thanks everyone, I guess I should have specified baseball cards, but thank you for your opinions nonetheless.
    I like '83 Topps, whats in the Heritage box that would be worth my while?

    05 UD Hockey Series 1 $175. It is a fun rip with a chance to pull some nice rc cards.
