this is a great group of kids and a great coaching staff.

    AWESOME! Congrats!

How many teams make it to Williamsport from the USA? (Just curious how far they have to go before ESPN!!!!!!)

Best of luck to your son and his teammates!

i am proud. this is a great group (parents, kids and coaches).

my son is from TN so he is ineligible to play on the all-star team. he played on the TN all-stars and they finished 3rd in the state.

my son plays with the travel team that makes up the majority of the all-star team. it is so good to see this team win! the head coach doesn't have a kid on the team, so there's no "daddy ball". he really works with the kids and tries to drill the fundamentals into them.

    Thanks,

    David (LD_Ferg)

my son isn't on this team. we live in TN and he is not legally eligible. he is on a travel team that has 7 of the 9 starters on the Little League team in the World Series.

Ian is the "manchild". He and my son throw in the 70s and can blister the ball. Desmon reminds us all of Kirby Puckett. He had a great catch in the Great Lakes Championship.

AH ... OK ... I misread your earlier post ... I thought your son couldn't play on some other team but was a member of the World Series Team. HMMMMMMM, I'm not sure if I'll be rooting for the Kentucky team now. (j/k)

A local all-star team from my area of Sacramento made it to the California championship game last Sunday on ESPN II and lost. The team they were playing had a kid who was 6'2" and 205 LBs! I think they said he just turned 13. MAN CHILD!

    bp,
I believe the limit is 12. they had 11 and removed one of the players due to some parental issues. the 10 now are a 'gel'd group. I hope they can sustain injury and pull it off.

    Thanks,

Tough to lose on a walk-off wild pitch.
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all "right-thinking" people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.”
