Has anyone dealt with the autograph dealer "Miller Boys"?

I'm curious because I'm in the midst of a very interesting interaction with Jerry (who I assume is the owner) and want to know what other collectors have experienced.

I've only seen their full page ads in SCD (never done business)
Successful dealings with Wcsportscards94558, EagleEyeKid, SamsGirl214, Volver, DwayneDrain, Oaksey25, Griffins, Cardfan07, Etc.
  • I bought a 1954 Red Heart Richie Ashburn from them last year which they shipped in a Plain White Envelope with no protection for about $0.50 after they charged $5.00 for shipping. Needless to say the PSA slab was cracked after going through the postal machines.

While the card was not major money (~100) they refused to refund the cost of reslabbing fees or take the card back. They instead sent me a cracked open PSA holder without cracks and told me to re-slab the card myself!!!!!

This was before the feedback rules changes and they also threatened a retaliatory negative if I left them anything other than positive feedback. While I could have pushed the issue further, the hassle was really not worth it for the card's value, and I made the decisions never to give them my business again.

Oh and by the way I dealt with Jerry the entire episode.

It has been my experience that just because a seller has a full page ad in a periodical does not make
them decent sellers. On the contrary they usually are bad sellers. The coin sellers are the worst.

    Good for you.

If they're the miller boys who sell autographs in PA, it's sometimes a risk to buy things like that from PA dealers. Seems like there's lots of scammers here. Not sure why but maybe the ones here just get caught more.

  • I can tell you all the Jevon Kearse autographs he has listed and sold over the past 6 years have been fake.

On the other site im a member with, he has been brought up in discussion for questionable autographs.

He buys collections, and breaks it down and sells them individually.

Just do your research before buying

If a guy knowingly sells any fakes why buy anything from him?

There have been many discussion threads about CJ Dunsmore (aka UKRedskins) before. He wholesales collections and I don't believe he vets any of the autographs that he sells. Many of the low dollar auto'd cards he sells are good, however MANY high dollar cards that he has sold have been rejected by PSA. Hell - several months ago he was selling a signed 56 Topps Cardinals team card supposedly signed by HOFer Charles Bidwell. The only problem - he died in 1947! In addition, he continually seems to locate rare autographed cards including (within the past year) 3 1955 Topps AA Turk Edwards (which is a VERY tough card), 1955 Topps AA Bruce Smith (almost impossible), 1955 Topps AA Davey O'Brien (again very tough), 1961 Nu Scoops Ernie Davis (which if real would be a $2500+++ card), 1969 Topps Brian Piccolo, ect...

I use to collect WW2 German helmets and was especially interested in SS helmets. As one respected dealer told me (from which parallels can be drawn to the cards offered by CJ), "fantasy pieces (e.g. double decal SS helmets with chick wire) only come along once or twice in a lifetime".

Be VERY careful with anything high dollar from CJ - odds are the autograph is questionable.

    Steve,

Our little group has completely boycotted CJ for the past year.

I bought about $400 worth of 1955 Topps AA Autos from him that never showed up. It took him about 3 months to get my money returned after his first initial refund check to me bounced. I've had about 75% of his stuff pass PSA/DNA, but the others had to be returned. I know GregM's has had worse luck than me with getting stuff passed. The seemingly endless supply of incredible rare signed cards that none of the other dealers combined can seem to find is what really concerns me.

  • UKREDSKINS is the football version of drautograf. If you collect baseball autographs, im sure you've run across some of his auctions in the past.
