Another BBCE vending rip? Maybe 1982 this time?

Sent Steve an email about possibly doing a vending case rip of 1982 Topps and Fleer baseball. If he gave us the same deal as usual, it would work out to $30/box for Fleer and $48.75/box for Topps plus the normal shipping rate. The 82 Fleer boxes are numbered 1-4. A full run of the 4 boxes will yield exactly 3 full sets and 3 chances at a PSA 10 Ripken.

Let's throw in that '52 T wax pack, too, while we're at it, LOL!
Edit: I'd be interested in a 1982 Topps vending box..
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

That would be cool. How many packs in a box of 55s?

There are 24 packs, 9 cards per pack (not sure how many damaged by gum).
I'd prolly consider getting involved with either bowman boxes, the '55 box, or the '60 box if somehow that materialized.
not that it would be possible for me to come near that type of $$
<< <i>those topps packs are ruined.. >>
How did they get ruined?
The 55 topps has water damage if I'm not mistaken?
Steve
1955 Topps Baseball Unopened 5 Cent Wax Box. Box contains 24 unopened wax packs. Packs are of the 5 cent variety. Again, impossibly rare box. Packs are very clean, but have the usual gum bleed that I have seen on every 1955 Topps 5 cent pack that exists. Second series box.

LOL, only Felicia could pull this one off!!
I bet if you bought that box, you could sell tickets to the ripping event! I would be sitting in the front row wearing a bib.

Don't know specifically about the packs Steve has, but I bought a 1955 Topps pack from the water damaged find. I opened the pack and they were all pretty badly damaged/stained. I don't think any escaped at least some water staining. I can scan some examples if people want, but besides lacking star power, I didn't see much use in getting them graded. I don't think any could pull above a 5-6 because of the water staining, which includes mold. Pretty nice looking otherwise.
I'd be interested - it would be fun.

As for the older stuff. How about the '60 Box? Does it have any damage? I'm down for some of it if anyone is interested and the packs are fresh.

At $25 a pack it's a little high but I'd pay a premium for an unsearched guarantee.
Nice thing about 77T is there are many star PSA 9s that bring pretty good $

all go for over $75 in 9, many more go for over $50 in 9
I've had good luck with 77 wax and rack - it's the cellos you don't want to rip

I'd be game for these too.
If we wanted to include the 82 Topps football wax case, they would be $99/box assuming Steve gives us the same dueal as usual.

That would be a great price. I would definitely take one at that price and probably a second if there were still openings.
<< <i>Wow, I've had my eye on the '82 football for a while, but never pulled the trigger. Very interested in that one too! >>
I hear ya, I'd be down with that as well
<< <i>I would recommend 81 Topps Football wax box from BBCE. I bought a box from a fresh case at the National, and it was very good. I'm just getting the cards ready to sub, and have at least 100 that are PSA 10 candidates. >>
That's a great idea!
Good luck with the rip. I'd like to fill some spots when and if you set it up.
I skipped jswietons rip the other day because I thought I was going on a fairly long trip, but it didn't pan out.

Not really...
I spoke to steve and here is the response concerning the 55 box just so there is no false impressions regarding the quality (water damage):
Back in the early 80's there was a find in Paris, TN of 1954 Bowman, 1955
Bowman and 1955 Topps baseball (along with 1954 and 1955 Bowman football).
Quite a bit of the cases/boxes had to be thrown away as silverfish and mice
ate through the stuff. However, some of the boxes were perfect. The 1954
and 1955 Bowman baseball boxes I have are perfect and were put away by a
collector who got to choose right away the best quality ones. ALL of the
1955 Topps baseball had gum damage. Every single pack that was from the
find had the gum bleed on the top of the pack. In fact, I have never seen a
single pack of 1955 Topps baseball that DIDNT have the gum bleed. I would
not call it water damage. It is just every single pack that exists of 1955
Topps 5 cent baseball has the gum bleed. Sometimes it is more serious than
others (where the gum has bleed through the whole pack).

Like I was saying, that would be cool. I would be interested in a couple packs or so. I wonder if any others would like to rip some 55s?
